 An all day outdoor festival featuring live music and theater, art activities and contests, artisans, food and more!

Artisan Vendors
Artisans will be showcasing a variety of wares including jewelry, paintings, upcycled items and more. Give the gift of art or treat yourself to a handmade treasure while supporting local artisans.

Human Art Contest
Use a variety of materials to dress yourself as a walking work of art. Entries for this contest will be judged by festival attendees and winners will receive a prize!

Street Art Contest
With colored chalk as the medium and pavement as the canvas, the sky is the limit. Entries for this contest will be judged by festival attendees and winners will receive a prize!

Doggie Show Off Contest
Celie Kennels presents a "Doggie Show Off Contest." Attendees are encouraged to enter their pride and joy in a number of categories including Best Dressed Dog, Most Artsy Dog, Best Doggie Trick, Best Doggie/Owner Look-Alike Pair and the Tail Wagging Contest. The cost is just $5 per category. Registration for the contest will take place at the Ceile Kennels table. The contest will begin at 2:40pm.

Kids' Studio - free!
The "Kids' Studio" will include activities such as a still life set-up with drawing boards and colored pencils available for small artists to create, explore and discover.

Raffles!
Try your luck in winning an array of items including handmade crafts from participating Fall Out of Summer Festival artisans.

Black Box Theatre Ticket Booth
Stop by the Black Box Theatre Booth inside Artists' Exchange for information about its next production - A Christmas Carol, with special performances at the Rhode Island Center for the Performing Arts at the historic Park Theatre.

Brennan Oil Food Court & Bake Sale
Savor what may well be your last grilled burger or dog of the season. Devour one of RI's favorite festival staples, the sausage and pepper sandwich. Feast upon a delicious grilled cheese. Munch away at delicious baked goods.

"Artsified" Carnival Games
Revamped and inspired by art history, this year's selection of games includes "Mondrian Mini Golf," "Escher Tessellation Toss," "Warhol Ball," "Color Mixer" and "Fishing with Monet." Game winners are invited to select from a variety of fun and wacky prizes supplied by RI Novelty.

2010 Summer Camp Art Installation
Inside in the Artists' Exchange gallery will be a showcase of artwork made by 2010 Artists' Exchange Summer Art Camp participants. The showcase is comprised of postcards designed by summer campers in the theme of each week of camp. Themes vary from "jungle exploration" and "cosmic arts" to "pirate art and treasures" and "green art." The postcards were created in response to a contest sponsored by NASCO Supply, in which the winner is rewarded with prize money for art supplies for him/herself as well as the participating school or nonprofit, which in this case, is Artists' Exchange!

FESTIVAL PERFORMERS
Live musical performers from a variety of genres include the Extraordinary Rendition Band, a guerrilla style street band of brass, reeds and percussion from Providence,rock, blues and acoustic blends from Sun Dried Alibi, Eric French & Mr. Hyde, Royal Jelly, Walman, Jenny White, Not For Nuthin', The Propellers and Jelly Roll Soul, rap by Kalyana, folk from Rick Drost, punk rock from Tony Jones and The Cretin 3 andtechno/electronic music from Global Crash.

Additional performances include demonstrations by Mastery Martial Arts, Rolfe Square's own Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio and Linda Succi & the Always on Sunday Ballroom Dancers.

Theater Lovers are invited to view a free selection from The Black Box Theatre's most recent production, its 4th annual One Act Play Festival. Described by The Phoenix's Bill Rodriguez in just one word: "hilarious," Superhero has been brought back by popular demand for this special encore performance. The play, written by prolific West Coast playwright Mark Harvey Levine, features Alex Rotella as Leonard, a man who claims to be a superhero, but who has some funny reasons for believing so, and Cherylee Dumas as a damsel in supposed distress who is encouraged by Leonard to discover her own secret powers.

Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival Airplane
Attendees are encouraged to snap photos of themselves as pilots and passengers of this fun creation, handcrafted with recycled wood and painted with glee.

Auditions for A Christmas Carol
Children and adults ages 8-80 are encouraged to sign up for auditions for the Black Box Theatre's 2010 production of A Christmas Carol, which will take place during the festival as well as on subsequent audition dates.

Paint a Pumpkin
A fall festival wouldn't be complete without pumpkins. Pick out your own to decorate and take home!

VOTE for the Arts
Significant changes in our state's political leadership happen at t he end of this year, and now is the time for Rhode Islanders to get involved and know the candidates. How will the next wave of elected officials support and advance the arts and creative sector in our state? RI Citizens for the Arts (RI CFA), the statewide advocacy organization for the arts and creative sector, brings their VOTE for the Arts Rhode Island campaign to the Fall Out of Summer Arts Festival, giving citizens the questions, tools and actions to learn about the candidates' views on the creative community. The VOTE campaign has been to festivals and events throughout Rhode Island this summer and will continue through until the general election in Nov. Through this, RI CFA challenges citizens to place their educated VOTE for the Arts this election season.

"Relaxation Station"
Offered by Yellow Leaf Hammocks, the "Relaxation Station" will feature a line of hammocks that were born out of a humanitarian project in Thailand. Yellow Leaf Hammocks are woven by the Mlabri Tribe of Thailand and serve as the basis of their sustainable microeconomy. The hammocks will be available for testing, for resting and for purchase.
