    – Providence Public Library is pleased to announce a visit by local author Cris Pfeil for a talk and signing of her book The Shepherd’s Rod at the Central Library, 150 Empire Street (Barnard Room, 3rd floor). The program is free, but donations to support ongoing author engagements are welcome. Through her experiences with Daniel, a Hebrew slave, Ammena, the daughter of Pharaoh’s chief magician, finds out who she is meant to be; not only as a woman and a wife, but also as a warrior. In a prophecy given to her by Moses, Ammena is shocked to discover that the fight between good and evil, which begins with her, will continue on through her descendants. To understand their stories, you must first understand hers. Based on the Bible Chapter Exodus, this novel is narrated by a high-born Egyptian woman who began her life as a sorcerer’s daughter and ends it as a servant of God who is given three life-changing messages delivered through the divine touches of A Shepherd’s Rod. Cris Pfeil earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master’s Degree in Education at Bridgewater State College. She completed a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Creative Writing and Publishing at Emerson College in Boston. A retired school teacher, Ms. Pfeil writes full time from her North Providence home. Book sale and signing will take place after the talk. Parking for is available at the Providence Hilton Parking Garage, 3 hours for $3. Bring your parking ticket with you to the event for validation.
