    As a director, one draws largely on personal experience and observation, yet there are principles that can guide everyone’s directing process. This six-week class will establish a basic directing vocabulary from table work and text analysis to working with actors. Through a series of exercises and peer feedback, students will learn tools that are applicable to a variety of texts; classical, modern or self-authored. Connect to your own theatrical point of view through learning basic principles! Actors and some limited rehearsal space will be provided, but most work can be completed in class. This class is geared toward the novice or the emerging director with some experience.
